As Performers/Aerialists we must wear many different hats. There is a reason we call it show business as there are so many talented artists out there that may never be recognized because the fail, or choose not, to find the balance in the business element of "show business". If you plan to feed yourself with a career in aerial you'll need to diversify, find a niche, and provide something unique. Aerialdownloads.com was designed as a resource for aerialists to expand their skills and further their careers, the art and their community through peer support. The "Spotlight" is not only designed to bring to the forefront those who are making an impact in our field but also to bring to the forefront those who have set an example of what we can achieve with the right motivation.
We have chosen JImmy & Anna Andersson to kick off our run of Spotlight Artists and the launch of AerialDownloads.com because, I feel, they represent that with the right amount of passion, creativity and perseverence you can be very successful in a field that many say is "saturated". I constantly tell my students, look outside of this city, broaden your scope and create your work. Here is exactly what I mean...
Jimmy & Anna Andersson are driven, creative and highly motivated individuals who grew up outside Lund, Sweden. Both Champion gymnasts, they have developed several aerial duo acts: hoop, silk, straps, adagio, balance, rope and their most famous act "The Bathtub". Their television credits include, "Swedens got Talent" , "Swedish Ninja Warrior" and numerous movie stunt roles, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIheBWXX78k . Constantly seeking higher education, they both have degrees in Business Administration. Anna also has a degree in Musical Education and Jimmy, a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Jimmy & Anna have a second business creating and supplying educational materials for sports teachers, pupils and gymnastics clubs, www.succemedidrott.se. If that is not enough, they have invested in real estate in Malmo and own 5 buildings with a total of 34 apartment units. Jimmy and Anna refer to themselves as Aeropreneurs. their passion for flight has fueled their business diversification to protect themselves from the ebb and flow usually associated with working in the entertainment industry. Now that is smart.
Jimmy and Anna are beautiful and kind people. They give back to the community through their lecture series, "Dare to Fly", focusing on entrepreneurship and designed for grades 7-9. They have two beautiful sons, Hugo and Hannes and when not dangling 40 meters up from hot air baloons or cranes they are frequently featured nightly at Wallmens theatre in Copenhagen.
Anna is currently pregnant with their third kiddo, due April 25th, 2020. The past few months have been very busy for them as the entire family was features on Sweden's Got Talent. Take a look at some video as Hugo & Hanne's have jumped in the show!
